The Attention-Sucking Power of Digital Technology Displayed Through Photography by Antoine Geiger Our increasing dependence on the information devices constantly stuck to our hands was the inspiration for artist Antoine Geiger 's series SUR-FAKE , a group of digitally altered photographs depicting random people being sucked into the screens of their phones. The images show children, businessmen, and tourists with their faces
completely lost, the forms stretched like taffy into the portals we use
for selfies, email communication, and mindless gaming. The blur imposed

In this new video by WIRED , Gregg Pasquarelli of SHoP Architects and Vishaan Chakrabarti of Partnership for Architecture and Urbanism discuss the biggest changes that they would make to New York City . Covering everything from public green space to transit infrastructure , the two speak at length on the Big Apple's planning and how it compares to other massive metropolitan cities around the world. Sanjay's Super Team and Share the Magic

2 years ago - By Polarkeet Den

The Sanjay plush I designed for the upcoming Pixar short "Sanjay's Super Team" is now available online! I've been a fan of Sanjay Patel's for a long time, and it was so awesome to be given the opportunity to design this plush. I can't wait to see the short, huge congrats to Sanjay and the team!

I also designed these super cute tree ornaments for our Share the Magic program this year. I LOVE being able to do stylized plush, so although they are small, these guys were a lot of fun to design!
    Hope you enjoy!!
Sanjay and the Fab 5 ornaments are available online at The Disney Store!

Once a month, Parker Sketch hosts an informal, supportive and constructive discussion group about art at the Barefoot Spa (801 Virginia Dr, Orlando, Florida). I try to got these sessions as often as I can, since I learn something every time I go. This is a group of artists and art appreciators gathering to help each other grow as artists! It is a limited space event. The work of about 12 artists is shared and discussed. Once the capacity for participants is reached, you can be put on a standby list and you can participate without showing art. The opportunity to show art is first-come-first...

  • Jezebel Waiting for the Barn

    Jezebel Waiting for the Barn

2 years ago - By Gurney Journey

Late in the afternoon the donkeys wait to be let into the barn. I sit up on the fence, because otherwise Jezebel will put her head in my lap to get attention.
At 43 years old, Jezebel is the oldest jenny. She has her own stall in the barn because she is on a special diet. Donkeys' proportions are different from those of horses: large head and ears, small hindquarters, big long belly, and small hooves. They also have a black marking called a "cross" running perpendicular to the back and down along the withers.--- Watercolor with colored pencils and fountain pen .

What are the characteristics of preservation-worthy architecture? In his book " Belyayevo Forever: A Soviet Microrayon on its Way to the UNESCO List," Kuba Snopek finds uniqueness in the seemingly generic Belyayevo microrayon, and argues that in spite of its pattern-book design it is worthy of protection. In this excerpt from the book's first chapter, Snopek examines Belyayevo's predecessor - the Ninth Quarter of Cheryomushki, which was constructed in the 1950s as an experiment that...
